This guy,(Elmer Abapo) does hi-hat rolls. How does he do that? I asked on his YT channel and Vochlea’s ,but no one ever let me know.

Elmar is basically training a specific input sound and is able to create a sort of trill with his voice to reproduce that one sound very fast. It can be difficult to recreate as it requires you to be quite accurate with the trigger training, but we’ll message Elmer and ask him to do a quick breakdown video on it and I’ll post it in here when done!

It’s also worth noting that you could replicate this same effect with some basic beatboxing and MIDI effects, for example combing a note length and appregiator to create a these hi hat rolls but will get Elmer to make a video about how he does it with his voice first
