I’m using my MOTU M series interface, and each time after opening the main interface of the plugin my inputs and outputs start working excusively in the plugin. I can’t hear anything in any other app including Ableton. I have to restart ableton to hear anything inside the app, or, for example, i have to reset the ins and outs in discord for the app to start working properly again. the sound in my browser comes back up shortly after i close the plugin as well
Hi, it sounds like Dubler is taking exclusive control of the drivers but the MOTU should (from what I can see) support multiple apps
I would first recommend disabling exclusive mode in the Windows settings
Disable Exclusive Mode:
- Right-click the Start button.
- Click Search
- Type Control Panel and hit Enter on your keyboard
- Select Hardware and Sound > Sound and click on the Playback tab
- Select the MOTU Audio Device from the list of audio devices.
- Click Properties
- .In the Properties window, go to the “Advanced” tab and uncheck the option to “Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device”.
- Click OK to Apply the setting.
- Back in the Sound window, click on the Recording tab and repeat steps 2-4.
- Once complete, restart your computer for the changes to take effect
Let me if this resolves the problem for you!
I’ve disabled “Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device” on everything that had to do with MOTU Ins and Outs, rebooted my pc and this doesn’t seem to have worked for me. I also need to point out i’m running Windows 11
I would also recommend reinstalling the MOTU ASIO drivers from scratch and then double checking the exclusive mode settings then. If it’s still not working please drop us an email at help@vochlea.co.uk with screenshots of your audio preferences in Dubler and your DAW and we can take a further look or setup a video call
Hello, seems like reinstalling the MOTU ASIO drivers worked, even without me needing to disable “Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device”
