Dubler microphone is really necessary?

Hello, I want to buy this product but I have a recording microphone. So is Dubler’s microphone really necessary? Because I can’t buy the software with the microphone because of customs duties. There is a limit of 27 euros. I live in Türkiye. If it will work without any problems with the recording microphone, I will only buy the software. If anyone has information, please tell me. Thanks.

I have an SM7B which is one of the best dynamic microphones you can buy, and the software doesn’t work but the problem is not the mic.

I have an SM58, a mic by Shure, same brand as the other guy, but much worse quality than SM7B. Considered to be banged around on stage and still OK, I get great results with Dubler 2 software with my SM58.

The Dubler microphone is not necessary.

I look forward to a significant update that’s been in beta testing for some time (I think), but the software works.

I still have to sing relative pitch correctly, and I think a problem for users is not having a pitch perfect centre.

For example A is typically 220 Hz, or 440 Hz, and a single semitone of a 12 note octave is one twelfth of a factor of 2.

That means 220*2³/¹² to get to a note C.

We don’t think of that when we sing, but I bet there are more variables than we think when we assess some software for delicate or complex musical tool as “doesn’t work”…

Tl:dr, it totally works for me, I have lots of fun, and the Dubler microphone is not necessary.

I’m glad it works for you. It’s a cool concept for sure. My pitch control is pretty good but that’s not relevant to my use case. Should have said it doesn’t work for me in particular as I have seen it be used successfully on youtube which is why I gave it a try. I was doing some beatboxing and trying to use the percussive triggering features, and it seemed like I was a little too fast for it to pick out the individual sounds. Messed around with it a lot and maybe it was a problem with my setup but they did refund me in the end.
